Aakansha Jain

My research studies how immigration, education, and access to opportunity shape workers and local labor markets in the United States and India, using applied microeconometrics methods.

In my job market paper, I provide causal evidence on how the H-2A guestworker program has substituted for settled farm labor across the U.S. from 2008 to 2024. Other projects examine the college wage premium in India, rural broadband and college enrollment, and entrepreneurship among university graduates.
